FAQ

We get it—sometimes you just wanna know which rub to use on ribs, or what that weird little code on the jar means. No worries. This page is where we answer the stuff folks ask us all the time.
  • That little 4-digit number stamped on the jar (like 1234) is a Julian date code, which tells you when the product was made.

    Here’s how it works:

The first three digits represent the day of the year (001 = Jan 1, 365 = Dec 31).

The last digit is the last number of the year.

So if you see 0454, that means it was made on the 45th day of a year ending in 4, like February 14, 2024.

  • Our go-to for brisket? 1836 Beef Rub—it’s a bold blend of salt, pepper, garlic, and spices with a hint of smoke. If you like a more traditional flavor, try the SPG (Salt, Pepper, Garlic) rub—it’s simple, clean, and made for beef.

  • Chicken loves our Clucker Dust—a smoky, medium-heat rub with a hint of chipotle. Want something sweeter? Try the Honey BBQ Rub for a perfect caramelized finish on the grill or smoker.

  • Yes! All our products are gluten-free and labeled as such. We know how important that is to many of our customers, so we keep it clean.

  • You can't go wrong with Hog Waller. It’s sweet, salty, and has just the right kick to bring out the best in ribs, pork butts, and chops. Add a little BAMM if you like it spicy.

  • Absolutely. If you like it hot, check out BAMM Sweet Heat—it’s sweet up front with a serious heat finish. Great on wings, ribs, or anything you want to fire up.
