What you’ll need

  • Cornbread (use our cornbread recipe on the Suckle Busters website)
  • Leftover chili
  • Shredded cheese
  • Chopped jalapeños
  • Sour cream

How to make chili over the top cornbread

  1. Make the cornbread. Use our cornbread recipe (it’s on the Suckle Busters website). Once it’s ready, you’re ready to build.
  2. Add the chili. Spread your leftover chili across the top, evenly. Make sure the cornbread is fully covered.
  3. Add the cheese. Spread shredded cheese over the entire top, covering the chili. It helps hold everything together on the grill.
  4. Add jalapeños. Chopped jalapeños—because we’re in Texas—and it takes the chili to the next level.
  5. Grill it. Put it on a 300° grill for about 15 minutes.

How to serve it

Slice it out and serve it in bowls. It’s a super easy recipe, especially if you’ve got leftover chili. Add a little extra chili on top, serve it with a spoon, and finish with a little sour cream.

How it tastes

Creamy sour cream, cheese, chili, sweet cornbread, and a little jalapeño all together. Very good. Very hardy.
